About

The West of Scotland Masters 2023 will be held at Scottish Squash Rackets Club (SSRC) and is open to all players over the age of 35.

This event runs using a knock-out draw system with plate competitions or round robin draws dependant on numbers. The competition runs in age groups and some age groups may be combined if entry numbers are low. Players must be over the age of the specified age group by no later than the start date of the competition.

If draw numbers are high - some matches may be played on the friday night if required.

The following age groups will be accepting entries:

Women’s Over 35/40/45/50/55/60/65
Men’s Over 35/40/45/50/55/60/65/70/75

Overall Experience

Great event and top organisation and club did well with parking arrangements etc. My only criticism would be lack of snacks available (filled rolls etc) The most disappointing part was no trophy memento for the finalists. I mean for a £20 entry fee you would expect a bit more than a £7 bottle of wine for the winner and a £3 bag of sweets for the runner up is a bit poor when people are coming to play from all over the country and from down south. I get there are tournament overheads but come on……it wouldn’t break the budget to go a little bit further surely???
